About us

Rotary Club of Saughall- welcome! Please scroll/swipe down through this page to find out more about us, in addition to the pages linked in the menu, top-left.

Our Club

  • Saughall Rotary is recognised as being a modern club and is part of an international organisation, but with a very strong local focus
  • Our Business Meetings are informal and dress code is relaxed. No suits or ties -just casual and we meet formally or Socially most weeks
  • The club is open and friendly and visitors are always welcome
  • We are all people who can and do work as a team to achieve what we want for our community through our fundraising and our involvement
  • We recognise that everyone is a volunteer and that everyone's time is valuable. There is no expectation to turn up every week and you can be as involved as much is as appropriate for you
  • Everyone's opinion is listened to  - everyone is influential
  • Everything is discussed openly at our business meetings and everyone is able to contribute to, or vote on, proposals

Our Members

  • We are predominantly local with a few members living in nearby areas and we are proud to have a good balance of age and gender within the club

What we do

  • We run a variety of events through the year which we use to support local community groups and projects, locally based charities and national charities
  • We think local and are always looking to engage with other local groups so we welcome new skills and ideas

What is Rotary?

  • There are 79 clubs in our District which stretches from Southport in the north, through Liverpool, The Wirral, Cheshire, North Wales and as far as Shropshire and Mid-Wales
  • There are 55,000 Rotarians in Great Britain and Ireland with 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide
  • Rotary is guided by our mission of "Service above Self
