“It is with great sadness we report that one of our Rotary members has passed away. James Wood became an active Rotarian in October 1974 and continued to use his skills and experience for the benefit of Rotary, up until the end of his life. James was a member of Ashton-under-Lyne Club until it closed in 2016. He was one of several of Ashton’s Rotarians who transferred to Tameside Rotary in 2016
He was a Paul Harris Fellow and became an Honorary Member of Tameside in 2020
James was very active in the community, bearing in mind Rotary’s Four Way Test, in all his voluntary work. He will be sadly missed by many people. Our sincere condolences go to May his wife, of over 60 years, and their children Robert, Richard and Elaine. Our thoughts and prayers are with all family members.”
