New Rotary President Outlines Bold Vision for Llandudno
Paying tribute to outgoing President Tristan Owen, who stepped in at short notice following the tragic passing of Alan Guinn, Sarah commended his “caring, committed and balanced” leadership. She expressed her pride in becoming President, emphasising unity, community spirit and a forward-looking agenda.
Central to Sarah’s presidency will be a strong focus on youth engagement, aiming to inspire the next generation of Rotarians. Plans include outreach to secondary schools, collaboration with Bangor University, and exploring leadership programmes for young people.
“I believe young people want to be of use to society and Rotary is the perfect platform for that,” she said.
Sarah introduced her executive team and highlighted club initiatives such as the club’s continued support for projects in South Africa. She also expressed her intention to collaborate with neighbouring Rotary Clubs and the Lions on larger, shared projects.
St David’s Hospice and the Acoustic Neuroma Association hold personal significance for Sarah, and she encouraged members to share, and support causes close to their own hearts under this year’s Rotary theme: Unite for Good.
Sarah concluded, “We should never forget that the work of a Rotarian is inspirational and crosses generations.”
