Supporting our local Keswick Community and having some fun along the way is an important aspect of what we do. Some examples of these are shown here
The Keswick Show is held each year on the August bank holiday . Keswick Rotary Club members help to man the entrance gates and also assist with parking duties
In November we assist Booth’s supermarket with their Children in Need fundraising day that raises over £2,000
We bought a telephone box in the town centre and installed a defibrillator for community use. We check it weekly and formally report any issues
We are part of the organisation that runs the Keswick Victorian Fayre each year, held in the first week of December which attracts large numbers of visitors to the town . The Fayre is held in the market square and features charity stalls and live entertainment. It and gives local charities and good causes the opportunity to have a stall for the day to raise funds for their organisation. Typically overall they they raise around £20,000. In addition our Club runs a stall raising funds for our own Rotary Charities.
Each year we sponsor 2 people from the Keswick area to attend the Rotary week at Calvert Trust
Regularly visit the North Lakes Foodbank to assist with packing food and support the excellent work that they do. We have donated food and cash to them.
During the Rugby season support our local Club by creating a regular match day programme and collecting gate money.
