Quiz Final 2014/15

Congratulations Rossendale Rotary for winning the final!

After months of hard brainwork, over five rounds of impressive quizzing, it came down to a final between two teams who had shown great consistency throughout the winter. In fact there was less than two points between the average scores of the two finalists. The teams of Lancaster Loyne and Rossendale lined up at Garstang Country Hotel & Golf Club, cheered on by their supporters and watched with interest by members of other clubs. As expected, the scores in the early rounds were very close. Then Rossendale had a very impressive round, knowing all there is to know about the USA. In the following rounds they eased further ahead. It looked like Lancaster Loyne would make a comeback after a good showing in the visual round but round nine was all about trophies and prizes and Rossendale had their eye firmly on the Bill Ward Trophy. They consolidated their score and eventually ran out winners by 95 points to 70. Congratulations to Rossendale on an excellent performance and commiserations to Lancaster Loyne who made a valiant effort. Of course Rossendale now have the pleasure of organising the District Quiz in 2015-16 and we look forward to tackling the questions they come up with.
