A report on litter picking on car parks in Grimsby.
Tidy up Grimsby.
The Rotary Club in conjuction with the Grimsby,Cleethopres and District Civic Society have carried out a liter pick as part of the Tidy up Campaign. This is being run by the Grimsby Telegraph.
The site chosen was the B & M and (former) Dreams car park off Fredertick Ward Way.This site was chosen because of the hugge ammount of litter and it is private so the council have no access. The shrubbery bordering Frederick Ward Way was particularly bad and also had traffic cones in the bushes.
The volunteers gathered on Wednesday afternoon February 17th and we were asisted by N.E.Lincolnshire council employees.They provided gloves,high viz vests,litter pickers and plastic bags and they took away the rubbish, which included, three traffic cones!
A very good job and the site was improved tremendously.
P.S. We have been inforemd by the council that we collected 1.2 tonnes of waste!!!!!!!!!!
