Members were saddened to hear that Derek Hall had suffered a heart attack earlier in the morning and was on his way to the Coronary Care Unit at Paisley's Royal Alexandra Infirmary. Members thanked his wife Fiona for calling in to give this news, and expressed their hopes for a speedy recovery.
Alastair Wilson agreed to take over from Derek the organisation of the visit to Barcelona later in the week.
President Elect Lesley Kennedy welcomed eleven other members, and International convener Douglas Dow read a letter of thanks from the Rev Judy Polkinham, executive director of Mercy Ships UK, for the club's recent donation follow the annual Bridge Evening, and gave details of a recent Mercy Ships mission in Madagascar.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Bill Jones.
