Report on Awareness Day - Sat 9th Nov 2024
Our thanks to all club members and Friends of Ingatestone Rotary for their time in chatting to passers by in the High Street.
The general consensus was that many men are aware of the PSA test. Some have been either treated for Prostate Cancer or are having regular tests, but some men will be requesting a PSA test.
Sir Chris Hoy's sad news has definitely created more awareness about PC & PSA tests.
We consider our brief campaign as a success.
We shall be greeting shoppers in the High Street and raising awareness about PSA Testing
and Prostate Cancer.
Have you had a PSA Test? Do you have
regular tests?
Are you aware that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime?
You will be at risk of prostate cancer if
You
are aged 50 or over
Your
father or brother has had it
You
are of black ethnic origin [ 1 in 4 will get prostate cancer]
What should you do next?
Talk
to your GP for information and to arrange a test.
Here
is some information about PSA testing.
