Community Event : Stroke Awareness Day

Supporting the local Stroke Association raising public awareness.
Each year over 150,000 people in the UK suffer a stroke. Today we are working with the local Stroke Association to raise public awareness of high blood pressure and its potential to increase the risk of a stroke . Last year nearly 200 people had their blood pressure measured and 20 people were found to have high blood pressure and advised to go to their doctor.

Students at BCoT turned our £200 seed money to £800 donated to the 2 supporting charities St Michaels Hospice and Hampshire Hospitals Charity.

Every year we run an exchange with a Rotary Club in our Twin Town of Braine L'Alleud where we stay in each other's houses, visit places of interest and generally have a wonderful time. This year we were in Basingstoke!
