Inner Wheel helps the club in its biggest fundraiser of the year

FOUR members of Barrow Inner Wheel and one friend set off in glorious sunshine to take part in the annual Tour de Furness cycle ride.

President Kath Brown, International Organiser Elaine Parker and Secretary Jane Smith rode the 13-mile route and member Pam Dilks and her sister-in-law, Penny Pearson, tackled the 50 mile route. It is hoped that a significant amount will have been raised for charity by ladies whose combined ages are in excess of 356 years.

The Rotary Club of Furness organised the superb event.

Jane Smith, Secretary of Barrow Inner Wheel, said: “The atmosphere was friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The bacon butties weren't bad, either - on the last lap, thoughts of those kept us going."
