Kimbolton Country Fayre and Classic Car Show

The Kimbolton Country Fayre just held its 27th show and is one of the largest Country Fayres in the region. Held in  Mid-July in  the beautiful grounds of Kimbolton Castle (7 miles west of St Neots on the B645), the Fayre offers a variety of show-ring events, entertainment, food and drink and a large variety of over 60 stalls to browse and buy from, some within the impressive state rooms of the Castle. Over 900 Classic cars are on display. The Fayre provides outstanding main ring entertainment. Lord Robartes Regiment and Cavalry usually have an encampment near the main ring and stage a Civil War re-enactment.  There is normally an impressive stunt act for example this year The Savage Cycle stunt show and ion the stage the Haka, Galaxy Swing Band and the Lindy Hop dancers performed. The day is usually rounded off by a flypast by a Lancaster or Spitfire of The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, this year a Spitfire.

There are always a range of attractions for children.  This year a Cave Tunnel system, Radio controlled cars, bouncy castle and bungey trampolining.  Not forgetting of course the Millars Ark, petting farm.

The Kimbolton Castle Rotary Club and Sporting Bears Motor Club organise the Fayre. All proceeds are donated to charity. Usually in excess of £20 000 is raised per year and around 6000 visit the show.
