In May 2001 the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell entered into a twinning with the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal, since when there has been regular visits and collaboration on projects.
In May 2023 a group of 12 from the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal visited Suffolk for 3 days as part of the regular exchange visits and when an invitation was received for us to join their 50th anniversary of their twinning with the Rotary Club of Langres.
In September a group of 5 from the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell travelled to Hanau and participated in their 50th twinning events including the handover of a round bench and Linden tree at the Otto-Hahn European School as symbols of international friendship.
In May 2025 the Rotary Club of Ipswich Orwell met with the Rotary Club of Hanau-Maintal in Fulda for 3 days to renew relationships and for discussions on future activities.

Charity Golf Day at Ipswich Golf Club, Purdis Heath on Thursday 2nd May 2024 has raised £2,660. Thank you to all participants and to all our supporters. Our next Charity Golf Day will be at Ipswich Golf Club on the 11th September 2025.
