Rotary Litter Pick May 2025

The Rotary Club organised a litter pick around Watton with assistance from local youth organisations

On May 17th, the Rotary Club set out to make Watton a cleaner place, by organising a litter pick around the town centre. We were delighted to be joined by groups from Shipdham Spitfires scout group, Watton Air Cadets and Watton Army Cadets. Our equipment was kindly provided by Breckland Council.
After a briefing from Paul Weatherill, the event organiser, we set off from St Mary's Church along a route that included the High Street, which was very busy on a Saturday morning.

Some 20 sacks were filled with rubbish during our two hour session. It is surprising how much litter can be found when you are looking for it! We received many favourable comments and expressions of thanks as we worked, and we all felt that it was a very worthwhile undertaking which was much appreciated by local residents.
