Sat 15th Aug: Barbecue for TFSR funds kindly run by Diane and Nittin. A Magnificent sum of £173 raised on the day, and topped up to £250 by vote of Club funds. See also below.
28th–31st Aug: Substand at Havenstreet Steam Rally – 100 conversations with local flyers given out. Many Thanks to Mike Jukes for including us once again on the stand.
As well as one potential new member, Havenstreet also brought the encouragement of a Rotarian from RC of Canterbury, Kent who was recently tasked to set up their own workshop for TFSR in dedicated premises with a Rota of 20 volunteer Rotarians.
1st – 9th September: 100Kg (2 cwt in old money!) of suitable tools were selected & sorted for type, quality & condition from total collections after Party on the Green and Havenstreet Steam Fair and delivered to TSFR HO Netley Marsh on Thursday 10th September, together with two prime Sewing Machines under our arrangement with Sandown Rotary’s furniture shop. Our Thanks to all our Donors.
Parish Notice: I hold items outside TFSR criteria but for their benefit such as Black & Decker accessories, imperial spanners suitable for Classic Vehicle projects, small vices and other items. I talk to the trade but interested parties “may also apply” -- to Bryan on his dedicated link please.
10th September: Also delivered to Netley Marsh Club Cheque £250-00 from theBarbecue. The funds have been earmarked towards a project in northern Uganda known as WUPEP project, which is at an early stage but being worked up at Netley and by local authorities out there. As a specific donor we shall be advised regularly of progress.
