Friends and Rotary collegues assembled for an evening of socialising, fun and fellowship to commemorate the most romantic night of the year!
Guests arrived to find Swanage Sailing Club adorned in all things Valentine - including heart-shaped banners and red tablecloths. There were even some heart-shaped chocolates on the tables!
After some pre-dinner drinks and fellowship, everyone sat down for Chef Steve's special meal to mark the occasion, comprising Rib-Eye Steak or Whole Sea Bass (accompanied by seasonal vegetables), followed by a choice of Tiramisu, Forest Fruits Pavlova or Bailey's Cheesecake, all of which went down very well!
Following dinner, diners were invited to stand up and tell everyone how they first met their partners, and a number of members described their first meeting, to the amusement of all.
There was also an opportunity for people to write down what items were on their 'bucket list', and these were read out by President Elect Maggie and President Nominee Bart. Ideas varied from trips to exotic parts of the world, to driving a tractor and playing for Southampton FC (possibly more of a pipe dream!).
An enjoyable evening culminated in gifts of roses and chocolates for attendees as they left.
Our next event is Silver Saturday, which will be taking place on 24th February, further details of which are available under 'Future Meetings and Events' on this website.
