Last Saturday Jedburgh Town Hall was busy with people sitting around drinking tea and coffee, having a good chat and spending money on invited stall. We wanted to share the love, so we invited other groups along to raise funds for themselves.
Students of Jedburgh Grammar Campus to run a bake stall selling cakes, scones and other lovely confectionery. It was very popular and raised over £200. The young daughters of one of our stalwart members sold plants grown that one of them had carefully grown and nurtured. Members of the JedShed, our local Men's (and woman's) Shed brought along a variety of beautifully crafted wooden items, hand made greeting cards and novelty items. Friends of Jedburgh Grammar Campus (who are also friends of Jedburgh Rotary) had a fun and games and bric-a-brac stall. Leaving only the bottle stall and raffle for our members to organise.
Local musician Bob Strachan sang some rousing songs, and a few members, who will remain anonymous, danced spontaneously.
It was a great collaborative event, well supported by the community with young and old people and even some visitors from out of town.
