Maxi Wright

Thu, Jul 20th 2006 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Maxi Wright returned to Gourock Rotary to update us on her work with drug addicts. She told us about a new treatment that in a few days can reverse the dependancy on drugs. This treatment stimulates the bodies own endorphins that have been knocked out by drugs. This treatement has been used and proved in other countries but there is a reluctance on the establishment in the UK to accept this treatment. Maxi is now trying to raise funds to carry out a controlled trial of the electric device used in the hope that it can be accepted into mainline treatment. We wish her well in this endeavour.
