Old Folks Concert 2007

An excellent concert. Over 110 attended plus many rotarians. Bradies and sandwiches were on the menu later on and judging by the amount left at the end it was enjoyed by all. I wanted to say that Basher was so so but that isn’t true. But “So”, did figure quite a lot. Lisa danced and in spite of the bagpipe player stopping without warning - she carried on when he resumed and nobody got upset. You just cannot trust modern gagetry these days! Joe Burnet held it all together and not only sung but did stage management as well. Brian Roskell sung - easy to listen to - right up my street. Holly too, sung beautifully and Babs, well, I think she stole the show. Her Doric poetry and unassuming delivery was worth watching. Indeed Graeme has a picture of her being chatted up by some Rotarian after the concert finished. I have an exclusive of how one concert goer arrived waving his ticket in style. (held over till next month) Oh, I nearly forgot, President Helen was in sparkling form during the warm up but her performance was definitely just so, so - unlike her bus conductress speech instructions pointing out all the bus exits to her assembled passengers!
