PRESIDENT'S NIGHT 2010
Bexhill Rotary Club President's Night was held at Highwoods Golf Club on Friday 21st May when a total of 64 Rotarians and their guests enjoyed an evening of music, dining and dancing.
President Roger Batey was joined by his wife Linda and daughter Fiona and had invited Rotary District 1120 Assistant Governor Brian Hampson and his wife Freda, Heathfield and Waldron Rotary Club President Colin Harwood and his wife Patricia, President of Senlac Rotary Club John Relfe and his wife Valerie and Chairman of Bexhill Round Table Andy Hayes-Smith and his wife Beth. Past President Colin Stutely was Toastmaster.
Upon arrival in the golf club dining room and throughout dinner, the Rotarians, their wives, partners and guests were entertained by the music and singing of String Theory, a trio of musicians comprising two guitars and a double bass who, after dinner circulated among the guests at their tables playing and singing musical requests.
At ten o'clock, Roy Forrow's disco Gemini took over and played a good mixture of fast, slow and rock music until the end of the evening.
The Golf Club Secretary, Austen Moran's team had produced a very enjoyable evening with an interesting, well cooked menu, which with good service had combined to make a really pleasant
Great Egg Race on 24th April.
Eastbourne came 1st and Eastbourne AM second. Our Bexhill Team secured 3rd place plus the best 'Aesthetic' construction plate. 2 Interact clubs sponsored by Eastbourne AM took part plus Hailsham Inner Wheel .details
