Speaker Les Holgate - Host John Holgate

Last week`s speaker was Les Holgate, he did a very good job for us at short notice and the subject matter was very interesting his topic was his interest in Guns and specifically small bore rifles and shooting them, he told us that there are two shooting clubs in Barrow one meets at Vickers Sports Club and the other (Les`s Club) at Salthouse Mills I think it is called Furness Gun Club.

He brought along 4 Rifles with him and showed these to the club along with a description and range/purpose, his talk was most interesting and he went into quite a lot of detail and answered several questions from members and his talk was well received and most interesting.One very good outcome was and invite in the better weather to visit his club and shoot some guns with other members of the club, this would need careful coordinating  with Les to get it right.
