This was our Potential New Members evening. President Allan had organised an excellent presentation of Rotary and especially Bransgore Rotary Club. Allan opened with the 'bottom line' of commitment and the cost of membership and then summarised the Club's social and fund-raising activities. Jeff spoke confidently and without notes on 'Why he'd joined Rotary;' "better than an ordinary Monday night in!" Nigel gave an eloquent synopsis of the work of International. V.P. Jon spoke of his ambitions for the club and the need for even more 'young blood!' After the usual struggle to get our IT equipment functioning, we were shown a well produced DVD of Rotary in action. Ian concluded by emphasising our social events and the fact that we wouldn't attend if we weren't enjoying ourselves! An altogether convincing promotion of Rotary, spoilt by the lack of candidates with only two prospective new members (Mike Allan & Martin Bird) present.
- Allan gave a report of the Club's Council Meeting: A) Progress with plans for Fun Run (oxymoron.) Viable venue sought. New Fund Raising activities needed since Boxing and Golf may become more difficult to organise in the long run. B) Consideration given to purchase of Gazebo to help publicise our club at events such as Fun day. C) Donating funds for Matching Grant for provision of Wheel Chairs (
