Youth

A very active Youth Committee

Rotary Club of Uxbridges Youth Committee works closely with young people in our Community and always have a number of projects and initiatives on the go. Here are just a few to give you an idea of how our Club supports youngsters locally.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award)

Each year we carefully select young people we think have the potential to go on to be leaders in the community and sponsor them to go on a challenging, action-packed course in the North-Wales countryside. For many this is the experience of a lifetime and it develops leadership qualities which will last that lifetime. And besides, its great fun. We ask our candidates to come back and tell us about their experiences on the course and you will see some photos extracted from this years first class presentation in our Photo Galle

Eborn/Pratt Football

In the Summer we run a Saturday all-day 5 a side football competition for Under 10s and Under 12s. This is a very popular event with many teams drawn from local schools, scouting groups and youth teams competing for the coveted  Shields, medals and prizes..

Local Schools Cricket

Working closely with the London Borough of Hillingdon Alliance we sponsor summer tournamaents.

Rotary Club of Uxbridge Music Award

Besides sporting activities, we believe that music is vitally important for young people. Life should be so much more than work, and music expands young minds and horizons too. The excellent Hillingdon Music Service is the hub of musical activity for young people in our Community as a brief look at their website will show. Each year we provide the Hillingdon Music Service with a much needed instrument, be it a Double Bass, a French Horn or Tabla.  If youll pardon the pun, we like to be instrumental in helping young people develop musically.
