Community & Vocational Homepage

Our Community and Vocational members assist with and plan our local activities. This is probably the side of Rotary you will see most often as we host or help with local events.

As a new club we are starting to build up a list of activities that we get involved in. Initially we have been assisting the other 2 clubs in Barrow (Furness and Barrow) in their community work and fundraising. This has included the switch on of the town's Christmas lights, Midnight Walk and Keswick to Barrow walk event marshalling and Barrow Carnival.

We also recently held our first Christmas Fayre which enabled us to raise around £500 for our Charity Account which will be put to use supporting local projects.

This area of our work directly benefits the local community either through our Volunteering activities or our fundraising events and can be one of the most rewarding aspects of being a Rotarian. All our members are happy to give something back to the local community in which we live and work.

If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in drop us an email via our membership page and we will get back in touch with you.

more Our Craft Fairs are always very popular with great stalls, lots of cake, raffle, tombola. We are able to raise money for organisations we support.
