Club Social Activities/ Visit from Penrith [Australia]

Jean Vranich and her husband Luciano from Penrith, Australia attended the annual general meeting of the club on 14th May 2012. They were very warmly welcomed by the club president Malcolm Boyd.

Jean Vranich and her husband Luciano from Penrith, Australia attended the annual general meeting of the club on 14th May 2012. They were very warmly welcomed by the club president Malcolm Boyd.
Jean is a member of Penrith Valley rotary club and will be President for the upcoming year.
Jean also brought greetings from two other rotary clubs in Penrith, Australia, these being Penrith and Nepean.
During their visit they had a civic reception at the Town Hall where they met Keith Morgan, Chair of the Council and John Thompson deputy chair. Also present were Malcolm Boyd, President and Phil Park who looked after both Jean and Luchiano during their visit. Jean exchanged gifts which had been sent by Penrith Council in Australia. In the past there have been exchanges/visits between the two councils and this provided a great opportunity to consolidate that relationship and friendship.
The Chair of the council also brought greetings from Appleby rotary club for Jean where he has been a previous member.
During their short visit to Penrith Jean and Luciano were able to take in a whistle stop tour of the Lake District and also take time to explore the town itself.
At the annual meeting of the club they were both able to hear in more detail some of the outstanding work that the club has been involved in during the past year.
