In August 2013 the National Eisteddfod of Wales returned to Denbighshire and to Denbigh itself after an absence of 12 years. Members of this club have, once again, donated the Prose Medal (Y Fedal Rhydiaith) and a monetary prize, which was awarded to winner of a writing competition. This competition is to write a novel of up to 40,000 words on a given topic which, for 2013, is 'Cwlwm (Knot)'. The award of the medal is one of the three highest honours of the Eisteddfod.
The winner is Jane Jones Owen of Mold and her winning entry is called Gwe O Glymau Sidan (A Web of Silk Knots). This is written in fifty nine pieces in alphabetical order of place names in north Wales with a common theme running through all places.
In 2013, as in 2001, the money for the medal and the prize money was raised from members of the Rotary Club of Denbigh through a weekly donation.
