Charter Night - 6.30 for 7.00pm @ The Dining Rooms

Mon, Mar 24th 2014 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The guest speaker this evening will be Professor Wagih El Masri, Head of the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries at the RJAH at Gobowen.

The Rotary Club of Oswestry recently celebrated the 85th anniversary of the granting of its Charter. Over ninety members and guests gathered at The Dining Rooms, Oswestry, for a memorable evening. The Mayor and Mayoress of Oswestry, Councillor Chris Schofield and his wife Val and Professor Wagih El Masri and his wife Dr Bettina El Deeb were amongst the top-table party.

Addressing the meeting, Club President Stuart Phillips spoke of the challenge to all service organisations, and Rotary in particular, to adapt quickly to the changing needs of communities during a period of real economic difficulty in which recovery is likely to be both gradual and patchy.

The Club received high praise for the breadth of its activities in the local community and internationally from Rotarian Beryl Cotton
