TMBC Leisure Services- Darren Lanes

Darren has now worked for Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council for 10 years and has always been based within the Leisure Services Team. In May of this year he took up his new role as Head of Leisure.

Darren Lanes will be talking about the recent internal restructure and the pending transfer of the Council's Indoor Leisure Facilities to the Tonbridge and Malling Leisure Trust. Leisure Services covers a broad remit of work and is generally divided into Indoor Leisure, Outdoor Leisure and Leisure Development. Indoor Leisure covers the main built facilities including Larkfield Leisure Centre, Angel Centre, Tonbridge Swimming Pool and Poult Wood Golf Course. Outdoor Leisure oversees the management and development of the Council's public open spaces including parks, play areas, sports pitches and Tonbridge Castle and Tonbridge Cemetery. Leisure Development delivers the Youth, Arts, Tourism and Sports Development agenda.

During the presentation he aims to provide more detail on the structure and role of the Service and touch upon some of the projects currently/due to take place in the Tonbridge Area.
