Morris dancers launch May Day dinner

The Black Annis women's Morris dance team started the May Day celebrations for the Rotary Club of Oadby

More than 70 diners enjoyed a meal at The Stage Hotel, Wigston, on May Day with the Rotary Club of Oadby.

The event started with the Black Annis Morris dance team performing inside the banqueting suite. The all-woman team were led by their 'fool' wearing an impressively masculine stick-on beard.

Our photo shows event organiser Ken Ellis with the team. He's the one in the middle without a beard but with a rather natty bow tie!

After the three-course meal, the diners were entertained by The Accidental Trio performed a range of songs made popular by Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine.
