On Tuesday 25th August, after President Alan Guinn had welcomed the members, Ian Trevette updated the them with the details of the upcoming visit to Bodnant Gardens, which this year is the venue for the annual trip for patients and staff from St. David’s Hospice.
The evening speaker was Past President Bob Mills whose theme was ‘Cheating’ particularly because it is now so rife across the sporting spectrum and is driven by greed.
Specifically he gave 3 examples from horse racing when
conspirators using meticulous planning over a long period of time attempted to relieve
bookmakers of monumental amounts of money. One was highly successful
