Julian Thompson from the Pensychnant Conservation Trust was the speaker on Tuesday October 29th. Pensychnant is a special place, a 150 acre Victorian Estate nestling within the outstanding natural beauty of the Sychnant Pass Centuries of traditional farming have shaped the prehistoric landscape and made deep cultural roots consequently the area abounds with diverse wildlife, both common and rare .
The original house at Pensychnant dates from about 1690. The main house was created in the Victorian era when it was the country home of mill architect Abraham Henthorn Stott. The great grandson of Abraham, Brian Henthorn Stott bought the estate back in 1967 and set up the Pensychnant Foundation in 1989 to protect the history and natural history of Sychnant, for peaceful enjoyment, for posterity. Now the Pensychnant Foundation continues in his memory.
