Tony Homden. Master Locksmith Tony Homden, master locksmith from Friday Bridge was the guest speaker at March Rotary Clubs meeting held upon Monday 21st March in March Golf Club’s H.Q. He spoke about his 25 years serving the public, releasing people locked on toilets, cars with keys inside, and opening a variety of doors or secure premises. These types of call outs were the bread and butter everyday work. He came into the business, almost by accident, but found there was both a need, and he had the aptitude for the work. Originally based in Reading, in time he expanded to cover the south East of England from Hampshire to Kent. He dismissed the James Bond type character who opens complex safes in seconds with a hairgrip and packet of polos. However offered very practical advice on home security. Explaining the basic principles of the common locks found today in home, offices, filing cabinet, etc. A brief question time brought an entertaining evening to a close.
