Peter Lerpiniere spoke to the club on the field of Dementia

Duns Rotary Club welcomed Peter Lerpiniere as the guest speaker at a recent meeting.  The club has a keen interest in supporting the move towards Duns becoming a 'Dementia Friendly Community'and have taken the first step in that process by setting up the monthly Forget-Me-Not Cafe in the Duns Church Hall.
Peter, who has over 20 years experience of working in the dementia field, is now an Alzheimer/Dementia Scotland consultant.  He gave a fascinating presentation which was both informative and entertaining.

There is a clear need for the community to become more aware of the impact of dementia, and to find ways of improving the lives of those living with dementia, and as a way of helping this to happen Peter has been invited back to the Rotary Club of Duns at a later date to take the members through the process of becoming Dementia Friends.
