Club Meeting 1pm "” No speaker

President Lesley Kennedy welcomed 13 other members, and senior vice-president Bill Jones reported that he had received a letter of thanks from St Joseph's Primary School for the club's £100 donation to the school's fund to send a set of twins to a residential camp at Auchengillan.

Adam Muggoch reported on a very successful local heat of the Rotary Young Musician of the Year competition held at Lomond School last Thursday and attended by some 40 people. It was the first time that both Lomond and Hermitage Academy pupils had competed, and the standard was very high.

Independent adjudicators Stephen Adams and Duncan Williams awarded the gold medal for the vocal section to Ewan Robertson of Hermitage Academy and the gold medal for the instrumental section to Lomond pianist Hanlin Wong, who will both go forward to the District 1230 final in the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow. President Lesley presented the medals. All five are pictured above.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Ian Mowat.
