Walkers Chocolate Emporium & The Tapas Restaurant Ilfracombe, Wed 27 February

Our recent 'partners night' involved a visit to another local manufacturer but unlike our January visit to North Devon Metalcraft this time we could eat the products. Linzi & Nigel Walker have been producing their huge range of chocolate goodies from their premises in Ilfracombe High Street for 11 years and with their adjoining tearoom and chocolate museum they have proved a great hit with locals and holidaymakers. Following a film showing how the chocolates are produced and a tour of the museum, Linzi was happy to give a brief talk on the couple's success with their Chocolate Emporium. Meanwhile Nigel was busy ringing up sales on the till as our members treated themselves to all manner of chocolate delicacies!

The popular Tapas Restaurant in nearby Fore Street was the choice for our evening's meal and with 50 of us squeezed into the main dining room there was soon a vibrant atmosphere as plate after plate of tapas were served up.

Before the end of the evening there had been much sampling of each other's chocolate purchases and the overal champion chocolate muncher was adjudged to be the insatiable Pat Withecombe!
