International Aid/ International Organisations Supported - 2015/16
Rotary Club of Rainhill has in 2015/2016 supported the International Organisations listed in the text below....

Street Life in Zambia - £800
Base in Kitwe the charity is committed to seeing vulnerable children fed, cared for and have their confidence restored. There are over 50 residential orphans and hundreds of other children fed each week.
Rotary Shoe Boxes (60) - £120
The gift of a shoebox that contains,
toys, toiletries, education items or household goods is a drop of happiness to
the people of Eastern Europe who live in a world of poverty.

Foundation for a Better Life - £250
A Romania based Charity that supports young people from very poor backgrounds to access further education, that supports 3 different Orphanages for those who are ‘at risk’ disabled or handicapped, currently 64 children and young people and supports a 7 to 14 middle school ( 1000 pupils ) in a very poor village area.
Shelter Box - £500
An International Disaster Relief Charity that provides temporary shelter and lifesaving supplies to displaced families, be it after a natural disaster, because of war or civil unrest.

Mary’s Meals - £1000
Providing a daily meal to over 1 million children in third world countries in a place of learning meets the immediate needs of hungry children and encourages them to go to school to gain an education that will benefit them in the future.
Africas Children in Education - £300**
A small charity supporting the
building of a school and the providing an education to children in a impoverished area of Tanzania in the
foot hills of Kilimanjaro. The charity also provides the children with a daily
breakfast, for most, the only meal of the day.
Shelter Box - £300**
An organisation as reported on before
** This amount was partly funded by the Harvest Collection at St Anne’s School in Rainhill. They collected £160 and that was split equally, at their request, between the above two charities. The club added the rest.

DISASTER AID UK - £500

To bring aid and support to Syrian refugees who have fled to Lebanon and Jordan. Provide them with winter blankets for new born babies, medical kits for trained community health workers, fuel, clothing and other basic needs.

ACE - £1600
The school as mentioned before, that now has over 100 children, desperately needs a toilet block and this money will help the block to be built asap.
