Mon 25th July – Fellowship
We are sorry to advise that 2 of our members have resigned. George Davidson who has been a member for many years including being President in 2002 – 3 has resigned for personal reasons. Michael Hills joined us 2 years ago but has been unable to attend our meetings because of professional commitments.
Defibrillator
The training evening held Wednesday 20th July proved useful and enjoyable for the few members who attended. The level of support from members was poor with it being particularly disappointing that several members who had indicated that they would attend failed to do so.
Thanks are due to Jock Smith, Steve Dampney and Bob Fryer who had joined Tom Mitchell the previous Saturday morning in distributing over 70 invitations to local shops to attend the training. These seemed to be well received at the time but on the night only one business was represented – a multiple – Specsavers -well done to them. Some of the local traders were on holiday but the turnout demonstrated incredible apathy!
Rugby
Our group of supporters and friends made good use of their season tickets to watch Glasgow Warriors last season.
All of our group have renewed their season tickets and have been joined by a new supporter.
Our season ticket holders will again be making their tickets available to Club members for individual matches which they themselves are unable to attend.
Press Officer
Members should get in touch with Tom Mitchell, in his role as Press Officer, if they have anything they wish included in the Newsletter or reported in the press. He particularly wishes photographs for publication and/or Club archives.
We have articles in the Free Press and in our District Magazine on a regular basis.
Hopefully Border TV are still interested in featuring the Mull of Galloway Trail in their Border Life programme.

And finally --------
Who was the best financier in the Bible? …… Pharaoh’s daughter. She went down to the bank of the Nile and drew out a little prophet!
