Every year Llandudno Rotary organises a visit for patients and carers at St David's Hospice to a local attraction. This gives patients and carers the chance to explore and relax somewhere different, and to enjoy a great day out. The day is usually further enhanced by transport in classic cars provided by Rotarians, friends and supporters.
Visits have included Bodnant Gardens, Bodelwyddan Castle, Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd. Details of different years visits are given below...
On Friday 19 September, 2014, the annual visit by patients and their carers from St David's Hospice was to Bodelwyddan Castle and Park, situated in Denbighshire. Set in 260 maginificent acres of parkland, the Castle is a partner of the National Portrait Gallery.
After leaving the Hospice the party had elevenses at the Castle, then a guided tour of the gallery. Following lunch, the afternoon was taken up with a tour of the grounds - the flat terrain making it easy for wheelchairs and walkers alike. The staff at the Castle went out of their way to provide a magnificen service to the visitors.
Although the sun did not shine, the weather stayed dry, and the day was much appreciated by patients and carers alike.
