OUR WORK AT HOME

Our experience and skills in community work and volunteering place us in an ideal position to work with organisations such as local businesses, charities, universities, schools, hospitals and environmental groups to support a large variety of good causes.

Our Community Committee currently organise a variety of activities to assist our local community. 

These include:

  1. Assisting with Crucial Crew (safety scenarios for 11 year children).
  2. Voluntary Stewarding at town events.
  3. Providing weekly transport for 'Gateway Club' Attleborough.
  4. Supporting young people in the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) where young, non-Rotarian participants engage in leadership and team building activities in a one week residential course. 
  5. Staffing and coordinating Wymondham Food Bank.
  6. Student mentoring.
  7. Youth competitions.

Supporting Local Charities

We support a number of local charities on a regular basis with regular donations and frequently have a main local Charity which we support.   Some of the local Charities we have supported in the last three years include: 

  1. The East Anglian Children's Hospice (EACH) - The Nook Appeal
  2. Community Heartbeat Trust (provision of defribulator)
  3. Wymondham & Attleborough Talking Newspapers
  4. Norfolk's Special Schools

more This is a financial award of £500 made by the Rotary Club of Wymondham to a student attending a local Wymondham school, currently in year 13 who is undertaking some form of travel and activity, most probably to support a gap year type programme.

more Wymondham Rotary supports several Youth Initiatives like Crucial Crew, which is a senario based safety awareness raising event for year 7 children, run by emergency services and other organisations.
