Lunchtime Meeting - 12.45pm - Speaker Simon Jarman MBE

Stuart's speaker today is Simon Jarman MBE.


Simon Jarman MBE was a soldier for 29 years, including five working for the Army Cadet Force on Training Safety. His encounters from Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Rwanda and much more around the world gave him an insight of the experiences of modern conflict. Simon was awarded the MBE in 1999.

Simon is a keen sportsman and now works running Forest Skills and Bush craft for youngsters along with presentations and displays of memorabilia around the country, linked to the First World War, as an amateur historian he has had a book published linked to his great uncle and his experiences in the trenches.

Simon lives in Oswestry and is married to Linda, he has two children one an Army Officer and the other a nurse.

Today Simon will talk to Club "A bit about my military career and ongoing along with a talk about my great uncle and experiences

At the front through the whole of the 3rd battle of Ypres, the Italian Front in the mountains and the German Final Offensive etc."
