Community Awards 2025

On June 20th in the Priory Rotary Monmouth awarded grants to nine groups that had applied for funding. The groups described their activities and how they would use the funding as well as networking with other groups

At the Community awards and Networking event held in Monmouth Priory on Friday evening May 20th Rotary Monmouth President David Forbes welcomed guests.
The award presentation was preceded by a short talk by Rotarian Kevin Graham of Miking Solutions on his recent trip to the Ukraine to deliver humanitarian aid to that country. This was one of many aid deliveries that have been coordinated through Will Jackson of the Rotary Club of Hereford City. Kevin found an apparently peaceful country in the areas he visited, but moving pictures of Ukrainian children killed by attacks on the Ukraine and of others killed in the war have spurred him to do more to help the country. Rotary Monmouth will be working with Kevin and Will on how best to help the country.
In the main part of the evening Rotary Monmouth was pleased to be able to meet all requests for support that they received, nine grants were made

•    Mayhem Theatre Group     £1,000    Support for Production of “Grease”

Four students from the Monmouth Comprehensive school illustrated the benefits they receive from being in Mayhem Youth Theatre and participating in the Bar Mock Trial contest developing their confidence and poise in speaking to the assembled audience.
The evening concluded with Deputy Mayor Rob Barrell awarding certificates to the various groups and concluding remarks from Monmouth Rotary Vice President Chris Bennet.
