Basingstoke Festival of Transport 22 August 2021

Sun, Aug 22nd 2021 at 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

A great day out for all the family, whether you're a keen motor buff or you just want an interesting and enjoyable Sunday.

Free entry too

March 2021 Update

On 22 February Boris Johnson announced the Government pathway for exiting the COVID restrictions.  Whilst the emphasis is on the pathway being data led, there were probable review dates given for the steps; the pathway ends with the earliest possible release from lockdown being 21 June.

Basingstoke Deane Rotary have discussed the possibility of running the Festival on 22 August with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and both parties are keen to see it run on that date.  The date allows for 2 months of slippage of the Government pathway.

Preparations have already been started on planning the Festival.  Our January update noted that the Festival Committee was making preparations based on a reduced number of vehicles (350 rather than 450 each for both Exhibitors and Car Clubs) and that a Waiting List had been started.  At present, should all restrictions be lifted and the full Exhibitor 450 vehicles be able to be accommodated, most of the current Waiting List will be invited to join the Festival.

As time progresses, we will keep in touch with those registered as bringing vehicles or on the waiting list to keep them informed of any changes regarding the event.

Basingstoke Festival of Transport Committee

We expect that the War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, RG21 4AG, will once again be filled with over 700 vehicles at the Basingstoke Festival of Transport 2021. We are hoping for a fine day and for the Government's COVID regulations to allow the event to take place. We look forward to seeing both exhibitors and visitors come and enjoy themselves. It is a wonderful family day out.

As in previous years, there will be a huge range of vehicles on static display, including classic, vintage, commercial, fire engines and military trucks. There will also be a variety of specialist car clubs, trade stalls and catering outlets. Basingstoke Festival of Transport is a great day out for all the family, whether you're a keen motor buff or you just want an interesting and enjoyable Sunday! This event is free of charge both for exhibitors and visitors.  Parking is available at Old Common, London Road (use RG21 4BY and follow the parking signs) for £2.

So, if you are the owner of any of the above types of vehicles, or someone wishing to come and visit - please come and join us for a great day out.  Come along on the 22nd August 2021 to the Basingstoke Festival of Transport at the War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, RG21 4AG.

Should there be any queries, please email and we will get back to you.

Sitting with Jane bench in new home

Remember the Sitting with Jane benches which raised funds for Ark Cancer Centre Charity from 2017? We re-located our much-loved bench yesterday which now sits in the central garden at the Candover Centre at Basingstoke Hospital.
