Basingstoke Deane Rotary
are once again organising the
Basingstoke Festival of Transport
on 14 May 2023
We were so lucky with the weather at last May’s Festival of Transport and wish to thank all that came along and especially those exhibiting their wonderful vehicles, without which we would not have a show. Basingstoke Deane Rotary are now organising the 2023 Festival which will be held on 14 May 2023 in the War Memorial Park, Basingstoke, RG21 4AG. We hope to see you there!
A great variety of around 800 vehicles filling the park will mean another fabulous day with something for everyone. We look forward to seeing both exhibitors and visitors for what we hope will be another wonderful family day out and one the highlights of the year in Basingstoke. This event remains free of charge for both for exhibitors and visitors. Parking is available for visitors (those not exhibiting) for a small fee at Old Common, London Road (use RG21 4BY).
As in previous years, there will be a huge range of vehicles on static display, including classic and vintage cars, lorries, buses, fire engines and military trucks. There will also be a variety of specialist car clubs, trade stalls and catering outlets.
For regular updates on the 2023 Festival, please look back at this page. We will endeavour to update this page regularly as well as our Facebook page frequently.

Latest Updates
Further to the last update, the Festival is now basically full for Individual Vehicles, Car Clubs and Stalls. Entry Passes will be sent mid April. There are waiting lists being run for almost all categories and details are being taken to get people onto the databases. Being on the database will ensure an invitation is sent next year and an acceptance is on the basis of first come, first served as always. Therefore please do not be afraid to provide us with your details by emailing bfot-enquiries@outlook.com. Its very simple, not on database, no invitation!
We are now starting to look forward to the day itself. We are hoping that the weather will be kind to us once again but that is not under our control! Important points:
· There will be no access to the site other than for specific volunteers prior to 7am.
· The Public Car Park will not open until 9am and the cost will be £5 per car; payment will be able to be made by either cash or card.
· You will not be allowed to wait in the road prior to 9am as this makes it very difficult for traffic to pass to the main show entrance.
· We request that pedestrians do not enter the War Memorial Park prior to 11am because we have to get over 1,000 vehicles on to the site in a 2½ hour period. It is therefore very dangerous to have people milling around while vehicles continue to move.
Should you wish to have the privilege of earlier entrance, you could always volunteer to help us! Putting on this show requires a great deal of manpower, especially to set up and take down. For those keen, work starts at 5am and ends at about 6pm, but there are things to be done throughout the day. There is a great gang and you get to see many of the exhibits moving rather than just stationery. Please contact Paul Temple on 07889 499888 or tempaul@dsl.pipex.com for more information.
Please email any other queries to bfot-enquiries@outlook.com.
Thank you
