Rotaract in India
Thu 13th June 2019 at 18.00 - Tue 9th July 2019 - 13.00
President Lyndsey and Vice President Shagun teaching in the School for Disadvantaged Girls.
The 2 St Andrews University students teach in the School for a month.
Rotaract Past President Keertna visited them at the School for a weekend
This is the 3rd year of this project sponsored by the Rotary Club of St Andrews with the assistance of a District 1010 grant
Conditions in the School are character building. Temperatures over 40 degrees with no air conditioning, intermittent electricity and sharing a bed, are situations that, combined with a long day starting at 4am, are exhausting.
The interaction with the children, however, makes it rewarding for all.
Teaching to give the girls confidence to face the outside world is so important.
