Hands on Rotary

Hands on Rotary. A team of Rotarians from Taunton Rotary Club worked together to create life saving Water Boxes which are sent as Emergency Kits to areas that have experienced a disaster.

Hands on Rotary!

Thirteen years after Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club launched the Emergency Waterboxes, the cost of putting together these life-saving boxes, full of tools and equipment remains the same at just £150 per box.  Even more astonishing is that the content and quality continues to improve!

Water boxes help communities across the world maintain access to clean water when disaster strikes. The boxes provide more than filtration for polluted water. The contents reflect carefully planned requirements for people that have lost everything.

Taunton Rotary has supported this venture since its inception and the pictures show happy workers packing boxes at the Radstock warehouse. Where in the world and at what disaster will they be opened? After packing 60 boxes some members were nearly on their knees but still smiling.

Thanks to all who helped on the day and also to Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club who have recruited support from many Clubs in Rotary GB&I and Switzerland and Scandinavia. We are proud to support them.
