Speaker: Michael Capewell, Vertivore Farm

Mon, Jan 20th 2020 at 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Redditch-based company Vertivore offers a novel solution to the challenges of growing food. The talk will be followed by a site vist, in Redditch.

Vertivore produces high quality, year-round salads, herbs and plants. All its produce is home grown in a 'vertical farm' which strictly controls its environment using LED lighting technology and a climate controlled system, all located on an Industrial Estate in Redditch. Michael will outline this ‘vertical farm’ concept with the benefits and challenges asoociated with it.

Following his talk, there will be a visit to the farm on Moons Moat Industrial Estate. Michael is keen for all of us who have an interest in this modern form of farming to see the system in operation. Unit 6, Colemeadow Road, Moons Moat Industrial Estate, B98 9PB (just 10 minutes drive from The Abbey Hotel).
