Member Running for Charity

Member Steve Robson ran the Great North Run in September 2023 to raise funds for our India Eyesight Appeal, and is now in training for the London Marathon in April.

The Great North Run is staged over a hilly 13.1 route between Newcastle & South Shields, and included a number of elite runners, including Sir Mo Farah. Steve, who joined our club as a full member in 2023, is fairly new to distance running, and can often be seen training around the lanes & byways around Dormston & Inkberrow.

In April, Steve has a charity place in the London Marathon, his first attempt at this distance. His place is with Asthma & Lung UK. They provide research funding for finding cures for lung related conditions, identification of root causes, lobby government and organisations to address those root causes, and provide direct support to those suffering with lung conditions.

If you want to support Steve with this magnificent fundraising effort, you can donate via his Just Giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/page/steven-robson-2024-london-marathon
