President Douglas Dow welcomed eleven other members, and announced the birth in the early hours in Sydney, Australia, of his first grandson, Finnian Gordon Ewan McGowan — who weighed in at 7lbs and was later the subject of a toast, with wine kindly provided by Douglas.
The Secretary read a letter from the Help for Heroes charity, thanking the club for its recent donation of £800 and stressing that the need for support was ongoing.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Gordon Burgess, who had celebrated his birthday the previous day.
