Jim Begg shows President Bruce is book Rescue 177

Jim Begg an Ayrshire GP gave us a most excellent introduction to the working of Rescue 177 and HMS Gannett. Not many of us would like to be lowered from a helicopter onto the decks of a fishing boat or a submarine in stormforce conditions on the high seas or dumped in the sea as part of a training exercise.
Jim really made us realise that they could be called out from the trivial to the extreme.
Jim's book was in the Herald's bestsellers list for a few weeks and has a five star customer rating on Amazon. All in all an excellent talk by a man who obviously enjoyed his work.
