Santa's Sleigh 2019

The Rotary Sleigh visits Watford

Thank you, the Watford Community for your generosity this Christmas. You have helped us break a new record and raise just over £13,000 for our Christmas appeal, this will enable us to support a number of local charities, who benefit the people of Watford.

Club President David Silverston said "Going forward, we have already started planning for Christmas 2020 and it is becoming very apparent that if we are to maintain the existing street routes as previous years, we are going to need volunteer collectors and possible drivers for the sleigh. Unfortunately, age has caught up with a number of Rotarians who, as the saying goes, “the mind is willing, but the flesh is weak”. So this is really an appeal, if you are over 16 and are willing to shake the bucket and help with the collections, or are happy to volunteer to drive and have towing experience, please let us know”.

Lastly, you have seen the work Watford Rotary does, why not join us? We meet once a week at the Oddfellows Hall in Watford, we have a meal, talks from historians, authors, business managers and charities. We run a supper quiz, race night, BBQ and other fund raising activities. You will meet new friends, plus it will give you a sense of achievement as you will be giving something back to the local community and charities and also help in certain International projects such as natural disasters, the fight against polio etc, just click contact icon at the top of the screen.
