WHILST THERE HAVE BEEN NO MEETINGS OR FUND RAISING EVENTS SINCE THE LOCKDOWN MANY MEMBERS HAVE CONTINUED TO DONATE TO THE CLUB'S CHARITABLE GIVING ACTIVITIES FUND. THIS HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL ORGANISATIONS IN THE TOWN, ARBROATH FOOD BANK, FOOD PARCEL OLD & ABBEY CHURCH, ANGUS TOY APPEAL, SALVATION ARMY AND FRONTLINE FOOD. MEMBERS HAVE ALSO BEEN VOLUNTEERING AS DRIVERS TO DELIVER FOOD IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.

FOR THE LOCAL SCHOOLS WE HAVE RECENTLY IN FEBRUARY SUPPLIED 56 LINED WINTER JACKETS, OVER 200 LINED BEANIES AND 200 PAIRS OF GLOVES. THIS IS TO ASSIST LOCAL PUPILS TO KEEP WARM IN THE CORONA VIRUS ENVIRONMENT IN THEIR SCHOOL WITH OPEN WINDOWS ETC TO IMPROVE VENTILATION IN THE CLASS ROOMS,

WE HAVE ALSO REPLACED THE PADS AND BATTERIES AT THE SIX DEFIBRILLATORS ORGANISED BY THE CLUB IN ARBROATH AND FRIOCKHEIM. A COMPLETELY NEW REPLACEMENT DEFIBRILLATOR WAS INSTALLED AT THE RNLI SHED AT THE HARBOUR.

IN NOVEMBER THE CLUB AWARDED THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL'S HIGHEST AWARD FOR SERVICE TO JAMES WILLIAMSON. JAMES IS A VOLUNTEER WITH ST JOHNS AND LOOKS AFTER THE SIX PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLATORS IN ARBROATH AND FRIOCKHEIM.

IN DECEMBER OUR CHRISTMAS APPEAL WAS VERY WELL SUPPORTED BY THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BUSINESSES. WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK TESCO, MORRISONS, HOWDENS, BOWMAN'S SOLICITORS, MILLBANK BUILDERS, DEREK MCNULTY JOINERY, MACDONALD GROUP, PAUL MARTIN PROPERTY, PLUS THE FOLLOWING FOR OUR "BUCKET APPEAL" - PIE BOBS, KEPTIE BAKERY, CLOUD 9, CABELLO HAIR AND ASHBROOK NURSERY; ALSO THE ROTARIANS WHO HAVE KINDLY CONTINUED TO DONATE THEIR WEEKLY MEAL COST AS OUR NORMAL MEETINGS ARE STILL SUSPENDED.
