Community Services/ STRIVE CAFE OPEN
The Cafe in the Town Centre which our Club Supported is back open
The Cafe has been refurbished and the new dishwasher fitted, which was purchased with Rotary help following a visit to our Club in February by Nat & Sally.
Nat is a past pupil of St Mary’s School, Wrestwood Road who, despite his dyspraxia, has taken courses in catering. Together with another ex St Mary’s family they have obtained and furnished a business in Bexhiil town centre where they serve breakfasts, morning coffee and light lunches. After the first month, (before lockdown) the business was thriving and they have plans to take on more staff and provide more seating; there are at present 18 covers.
The enterprize is in the process of registering as a charity. The Club was interested and ethusiastic about this project and hopes were expressed that we would be able to support it individually and as a club as it progresses.
